It just got .... REAL!
Jell'o Everyone!!!!!
Listen, it just got real! This session is not even close to joking. I'm a little passed mid way and let me tell you ..... it has been A LOT of work. Pathophysiology was a lot of work for sure but this time around it's been tougher because not only am I in one tough class but two and not to mention the labs. Exams every week, lab check offs every week, quizzes here and there, case studies, med calculation homework, homework in general, papers etc. I'll explain to you all how my day was today. Yesterday was Sunday. I ate lunch with family and left them early because I knew the following day would start very early. I got home and ironed my uniforms ..... We (future nurses, or any medical professional for that matter) should not be lookin a hot mess! I wouldn't want a nurse or doctor caring for me that looks like they just rolled out of bed .... that's an entirely different blog post :). Back to what I was saying, I ironed my uniforms, got everything ready for my Monday, studied and went to bed, I went to bed early!!! My early might not be early for someone else but whatever. I went to bed at 10:30 pm and woke up at 3:30 am. YES 3:30 am! Hear me out, traffic in Atlanta is extremely unpredictable. At my school being late to an exam is NOT and I repeat is NOT an option. If you are late to an exam it means that you have just failed the class PERIOD. Let me remind you that, nursing school is NOT cheap. I am not going to retake a class for something as inevitable as traffic. I would rather get to school wayyyyyyyyy early and not be paying twice. Ain't nobody got time for dat :).
So yea, I woke up at 3:30 am, made coffee, got ready, chilled and studied at home. I left at 5 am. What normally would take a minimum of an hour and a half (on a good day) took me 40 minutes. WINNING!! I arrived a little after 5:40 am. Studied in my car and had breakfast. I tend to review in the morning with one of my friends. We ask each other questions. Making sure that we know the material. This class starts at 8 am but we have to be at the exam room about 15 minutes before. After the exam we headed to lecture. Lecture was over at noon. Warmed up my food (I had left overs from yesterday, Mac & Cheese with chicken tenders), and no I didn't cook. Lol. I ate and headed to lab at 1:45ish .... wait what?! Haaa I wish. I headed to lab at 12:45. Lab starts at 1 and ends at 5 pm. Sat in traffic on the way home and arrived around 6:30ish. Traffic headed back wasn't too bad. I felt like it wasn't as packed as it normally is. I think schools are on some kind of fall break (lucky lil .... children). By the time I get home, eat, shower etc., I am completely drained. I am already drained for tomorrow. If there are typo's I'm sorry guys. Mind has been blown and I'm not sure I'll be recovering any time soon.
I will share one awesome secret with you all. My first class in nursing school was Intro to Nursing. Well the professor I had for that class emailed me a few months ago. She asked me if I was willing to be one of her guest speakers. UHHHHHH .... YEA!!! What an honor right? To be able to give some students a few tips, pointers, share my experience or just answer any questions they may have .... that is super awesome! I am so excited to be able to do that. That is happening Wednesday. I will let you all know how it goes. That's the reason I started this blog to begin with. God is awesome. He will open doors we never saw there to begin with. This may be small to you but this is awesome to me. To think that my previous professor thought of me and asked me to speak to her class is just very humbling. I'm no better than anyone else! It's just awesome. Anyways, I'm going to get some much needed rest. You all are awesome. Smooches!!!
